November 2018 Recap
The month of November has been the busiest month for me, EVER.
First of all, I turned 25. And to make it extra special I celebrated my birthday in El Nido, Palawan (November 9 to 11).
The trip went really well and I had an awesome time island hopping in the amazing beaches of El Nido, Palawan.
I spent 4Days and 3Nights Island Hopping on some of the best beaches I’ve ever been.
The trip reminded me so much of my Caramoan Island Hopping in 2016.
I also went to Malaysia before the month ended. I spent 5 Days/4Nights in Penang, Malaysia (November 22 to 26) and had a quick tour at Kuala Lumpur before the flight back home.
The reason for the trip was to support my eldest sister who joined the Penang Bridge International Marathon. She did pretty well for her first 42K event and I’m very proud to have witnessed her finish the race strong.
Sadly, before our trip to Penang my brother got into a motorcycle accident. He broke his right leg and had to undergo surgery. It was a tragic news for the family.
As of this writing my brother already went through with the surgery and is now on the road to recovery!
I want to share this detail since it has an effect to my current net worth which you can read towards the end of this post.
Those were the major events that took place for November.
How was money for November 2018?
To help my brother in his accident I had to lend Php 30,000. This was used, along with the money from my other sister to buy the implants for his operation.
I am beyond thankful to God that although the fractured bone was near the hips, He didn’t allow for my brother to undergo hip replacement surgery. This would have cost us Php 200,000 or more.
Aside from the implants, there’s no other major expenses since my brother is being taken care of at Philippine Orthopedic Center in Quezon City.
That’s it for November.
November 2018 Extra Income Report
For November 2018, I earned a total of Php 1999.82 extra income from blogging. The rest of my extra income projects – YouTube, Freelance Content Writing and Wedding Emcee were Php 0.
Blogging
The income I revealed above is the combined Google Adsense income I have from this blog and my other blog, IzzaGlinoFull.
I did a 4500+ word blog post about My First Google Adsense Payment Story to give you an idea what it takes to earn money on Google Adsense.

Below is/are the big win/s on my blog for this month.
1. 2018 SavingsPinay Reader Survey
Every two years I conduct a reader survey here in SavingsPinay.
The objective of the reader survey is simple – find out how to make this blog better.
I can’t thank enough those who have spent less than five minutes of their time to answer the survey. And I am hoping for more people to share their thoughts and feedbacks on SavingsPinay.
Here’s the form in case you missed it from last week’s post.
I am also encouraging you to be part of my Email List:
What do you get as part of my email list?
Access to the Resource Library where you can download freebies like workbooks, budget templates, money manifestos etc.
An exclusive email every week containing info and updates I only share to my subscribers. My first newsletter includes how my first three months investing in direct stock market went. And the response has been amazing.
November 2018 Blog Income Update
For November, I earned a total of $38.07 or Php 2002.87 which is the highest amount I earned ever on Google Adsense in a single month!
Unlike last month’s report where my earning dropped significantly, November proved to be a good month for the blog.
I am now on the road to reaching my fifth Google Adsense threshold for 2018. It feels surreal remembering how it took me four long years to make money in Google AdSense.
What did I do differently?
Owning my own domain and hosting made such a huge difference in my blog life.
That investment unlocked all the possibilities for monetization on my blog. For three long years I didn’t bother to have my own domain and web hosting.
November 2018 Blog Traffic Update
Another month where I hit 20,000 pageviews a month on SavingsPinay. Knowing that my blog is read or even visited 20,000 times is such a huge achievement for me.
You see, when I started SavingsPinay I never imagined it to be what it is today, a source of inspiration to others. Thank you for keeping this blog alive.
From 26,517 views last month I went down to 24,093.
With that here are my regular posts on SavingsPinay for November 2018:
November 2018 Net Worth Update
Below is the simple spreadsheet to show my November 2018 Net Worth:
Here are the details:
Extra Income – Php 5,072.17
As you know, how I organize my money is that the extra income I get from all of my side hustles pays for my “wants” such as travel.
Subtracting the expenses I had for the Palawan and Malaysia, I am left with almost half of what I had from last month.
This is what’s good with having a side hustle, you get to enjoy opportunities that comes along your way without sacrificing much of your savings.

Stocks – Php 35,223.54
Stocks are better this month compared to last month. The Philippine stock market finally reached the 7,500 mark. I am hoping that this rise continue especially as a new year begins.
I continue to invest even if the stock market is failing. I am investing for the long-term and I refrain to be swayed by my emotions easily.
This is the reason why you need to have proper savings first before making any investment. The market is like a big bubble, no one knows what’s going to happen in years to come.

Mutual Fund – Php 62,465.03
I’ve been investing in mutual fund since 2014.
For the first three years I experienced slow growth in my mutual fund earnings.
I even experienced a loss in my last update.
The current state of the Philippine stock market affected the market value of my mutual investment big time. I’m not happy at all looking in my portfolio.
From almost Php 9000 gain in January down to a negative. Undoubtedly, sad.
But then I’m keeping my investment intact.
Mutual Fund is a good parking lot for whatever savings I have so I will still believe that as the market goes up once again, the returns I have will return and even grow bigger.

FarmOn – Php 19,017.50
I already received my return for both the rice and squash investment I started in January 2018 and March 2018, respectively. I got around 11.9% ROI for each which is awesome.
From Php 17,000 net investment, it grew to Php 19,000 in six months.
What’s my crowdfunding plan now.
First, I wanted to do an update on the posts I made about online farming or crowdfunding. Most of the information from the post were outdated already.
Second, I want to keep my capital money including interest for now and reinvest once a new cycle that I like opened. I really wanted to invest in poultry products next like pig or chicken.
