I know it’s been a while since my last update, but I wanted to share this year’s numbers, especially in light of my previous reports. If you’re curious about my journey, check out my income reports from 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 for some context.

As this is my fifth year sharing my side hustle income report, it would be great to include a chart summarizing the journey so far.

2020: The Beginning of My Side Hustle Journey

In 2020, I earned a net income of ₱52,934.24 from side hustles. It was a solid start, especially since I was getting my feet wet in freelancing and online opportunities.

2021: A Turning Point

By 2021, my side hustle income increased to ₱148,042.55. This year felt like a turning point—things finally started to click, and I gained more confidence in balancing my full-time work with extra income streams.

2022: My Peak Year of Side Hustle Earnings

In 2022, I hit my peak with a net income of ₱350,537.14. This was a breakthrough year where I gained strong traction with side hustles and was invited to several paid webinars, opening new doors and opportunities.

2023: A Year of Challenges and Adjustments

The year 2023 brought challenges, and my net income dipped to ₱242,897.38. While still higher than my early years, it was a reminder of the unpredictable nature of side hustles. Although webinar opportunities slowed down, I earned more through freelance writing gigs, which balanced the decline.

2024: A Difficult Year

In 2024, I closed the year with a net income of ₱43,673.49. It was tough financially, but that’s the reality of side hustles—there will always be highs and lows.

Lessons Learned From 5 Years of Side Hustles

Despite the recent dip, I remain optimistic about the future. Side hustles have always been more than just a source of income for me. Through SavingsPinay, my lifestyle blog at IzzaGlinoFull.com, my YouTube channel, and my social media platforms, I’ve been able to:

When I refer to my side hustle income, I am strictly talking about the income I earn from activities that I engage in outside my regular job.
The figure I have provided for my net income accounts for all the expenses I incurred while running my business. However, I have not included the tax payments that I made. Please remember that as a registered business and freelancer, I am required to pay taxes.

One of my main income streams in 2024 came from paid webinars and seminars.
I’m incredibly grateful for the companies and organizations that invited me to share my knowledge in wellness seminars and employee training webinars. Each speaking engagement allowed me to:

Share valuable insights about wellness and personal growth.
Contribute meaningfully to corporate and community programs.

Although I received fewer invitations than in previous years, I’m still thankful for opportunities to collaborate with reputable companies like Shopee and Capital One.

In 2024, I was also invited to attend a paid special event after writing about it on my blog. The event was “Cha-Ching’s One Million in the Philippines”, which celebrated the milestone of teaching one million Filipino students basic money management skills.

Being part of the event was:

A chance to witness how financial literacy programs empower the youth.
An opportunity to interact with attendees, educators, and industry experts.
A memorable experience that reinforced my passion for sharing financial education.

This side hustle may not be regular, but it aligns closely with my mission to spread awareness about money management and financial well-being.

Freelance Writing

Another source of income for me in 2024 was freelance writing. While it didn’t generate as much as in previous years, it still played an important role in my side hustle journey.

Every article I write adds to my experience and portfolio.
Even small projects contribute to extra income and growth opportunities.
Freelance writing remains a flexible way for me to sharpen my skills while earning a living.

Though modest compared to my other streams, it’s proof that staying consistent with writing keeps doors open for future opportunities.

Thoughts on My 2024 Side Hustle Income Streams

Having multiple income sources—even if some are smaller than others—remains one of the best ways to stay financially resilient. From paid webinars to event collaborations to freelance writing gigs, each hustle helps me not only financially but also personally and professionally.

My Side Hustle Expenses in 2024

Running side hustles doesn’t just bring in extra income—it also comes with its own set of business expenses. To be clear, I only track and record business-related expenses here (not personal ones).

Below is a breakdown of my main side hustle expenses in 2024:

Taxumo Renewal (Business Tax Filing)

One of my most important expenses every year is Taxumo. I use it for all my business tax filing and bookkeeping needs. With Taxumo, I simply enter my income and expenses, and the system automatically computes and prepares my filings.

Maintaining my blog SavingsPinay.ph requires annual domain and hosting renewals. For 2024, I spent ₱5,279 for both services. While it’s a necessary expense, it ensures my blog remains online and accessible.

Domain Renewal – IzzaGlinoFull.com

For my lifestyle blog, IzzaGlinoFull.com, I only pay for the domain renewal via GoDaddy, since I host my content on Blogger (which is free).

This setup is very cost-efficient—a reliable domain service without additional web hosting expenses.

Video Editing (CapCut + Hired Editor)

In the past, I hired a video editor to work on my YouTube content. Eventually, I decided to edit my videos myself and upgraded to a CapCut Premium subscription.

Why I love CapCut for editing:

Affordable compared to other editing tools.
Intuitive features for both YouTube and TikTok content.
Allows me to create higher-quality videos while staying within budget.

I’ve been subscribed to the Canva Pro yearly plan since 2018, and it’s been one of the most valuable tools for my blogging and content creation.

With Canva, I can:

It remains one of the best investments for my side hustle.

While these tools and services require ongoing investment, they make my side hustle operations more professional, efficient, and scalable. From tax filing (Taxumo) to content creation tools (CapCut, Canva), each expense plays a role in helping me grow my platforms.

At the end of the day, spending on the right tools is not just an expense—it’s an investment in my side hustle journey.

My Side Hustle Income Plans for the Rest of 2025

Balancing freelancing with side hustles has been challenging, especially since I work the graveyard shift. The irregular hours and fatigue have made it more challenging to maintain my usual blogging schedule.

Still, I remain committed to showing up as consistently as possible across my platforms—SavingsPinay.ph, IzzaGlinoFull.com, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

Here are my detailed side hustle income plans for the rest of 2025:

Blogging Goals (SavingsPinay.ph & IzzaGlinoFull.com)

Blogging remains a core part of my side hustle journey. My main plans for 2025 are:

Publish at least two new blog posts per week → to grow content volume and increase reader engagement.
Update one existing blog post weekly → with SEO optimizations to improve search engine rankings and attract more organic traffic.
Reactivate my email list → through targeted outreach, lead magnets, and consistent subscriber engagement.
Launch one paid digital product → such as a workbook, template, or eBook by the end of 2025 (or Q1 2026) to diversify income streams.

👉 By strengthening both content creation and SEO updates, I aim to increase blog traffic and income significantly.

YouTube Growth Plan

For YouTube, my goal is to stay consistent and grow my community. My 2025 YouTube income plans include:

Upload two new videos each month to keep my channel active.
Batch record four videos in advance → to reduce stress and ensure consistent uploads even with my busy freelancing schedule.
Reach 2,000 subscribers by December 2025 through quality content, consistency, and cross-promotion from my blog and socials.

👉 Consistency is the key to turning YouTube into a stronger income stream for me.

TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook Goals

Short-form content is powerful for building visibility. My social media growth plan for 2025 is:

Post at least three short-form videos per week (batch-produced and scheduled).
Reach 600 TikTok followers by the end of 2025.
Repurpose every blog post into at least one social media post to maximize content reach.
Run interactive Instagram Stories (polls, Q&As, mini updates) to boost engagement.

👉 Social media remains a vital traffic driver that supports both my blog and YouTube.
