Hi and welcome to a new recap and extra income report while working full-time, September 2018 Recap + Extra Income Report.
Every month I publish an in-depth report of my net-worth and extra income projects. I personally love reading income reports and I hope by doing this I inspire you to start side hustling too.
If you’re extra curious about my personal life you can go my other blog, IzzaGlino where I published my Goodbye September, Hello October 2018 post. It simply chronicles the highlights of my month complete with photos and short anecdotes.
A great start for you to know my outlook for this year would be the 2017 in Review I did.
Publishing my recap and extra income report monthly has always been for two main reasons:
1. To help myself stay on track with my finances and stay accountable to my goals and actions.
2. To encourage you and the others who are reading this post to pursue your passion and hustle.
September 2018 Recap
I spent the month of September still working on deliverables at work. After office every Tuesdays and Thursdays I went straight to the Purple Book Class, a foundational discipleship class offered by Victory Makati.
Discipleship classes such as Purple Book are helpful to guide every new (and even seasoned Christians) on how to better spread the gospel. I never knew I will enjoy the class so much.
Another cool happening for September was me spending an overnight staycation at Shell Residences in support to my eldest sister’s Run Rio 2018 marathon. Really enjoyed bonding with my sisters, leaving the laptop at home and just rest.
Next month will be another busy month at work. I will be taking a long leave of absence on November so I have to make sure everything is set and ready. This is my first time to take such a long leave and I am beyond excited for I am going on a trip actually.
More stories soon.

How was money for September 2018
Money is the same for September 2018. I actually even saved more because I took a bus going home instead of FX. That’s around Php 30 money saved for transportation. We also had free snacks during the classes so I don’t need to worry for dinner too.
That’s it for September!
September 2018 Extra Income Report
For September 2018, I earned a total of Php 1449.90 extra income from blogging. The rest of my extra income projects – YouTube, Freelance Content Writing and Wedding Emcee were Php 0.
Blogging
The income I revealed above is the combined Google Adsense income I have from this blog and my other blog, IzzaGlinoFull.
I did a 4500+ word blog post about My First Google Adsense Payment Story to give you an idea what it takes to earn money on Google Adsense.

Below is/are the big win/s on my blog for this month.
1. Opportunities are opening for SavingsPinay
For September I received a number of potential projects for the blog. I am both surprised and grateful for the opportunities that are opening up for SavingsPinay and can’t wait for them to be fulfilled soon.
I have two potential sponsored posts and a brand ambassadorship in the work. Nothing final yet so all I can do now is pray and wait. Whatever happens, whether the opportunities push through or not I will definitely let you know.

2. Be part of SavingsPinay Facebook Page
I think the past two weeks of September has been the most active state of the SavingsPinay Facebook Page. I am happy for the people who appreciate the content that I post in the said platform and would like to invite you to like the page too.
Of course I still have my email list if you still haven’t subscribed.
What do you get as part of my email list?
Access to the Resource Library where you can download freebies like workbooks, budget templates, money manifestos etc.
An exclusive email every week containing info and updates I only share to my subscribers. My first newsletter includes how my first three months investing in direct stock market went. And the response has been amazing.
Below are my must do’s related to blogging as the new month begins:
- Be at least one week ahead of blog posts. I’ve always wanted to get ahead of my blog schedule. I imagine getting ahead of at least one week of new blog posts will provide me a better work-life balance for September.
- Update 1 SavingsPinay Post a week. I badly need to update past posts in SavingsPinay to optimize and to add proper ads inside. I have been longing to do this ever since my Kuya from Olanap.com helped me insert ads within my blog posts. This move goes the same with my other blog, IzzaGlinoFull.com wherein I must re-publish a lot of content.
- Send out weekly Newsletter. The weekly newsletter is an essential part of my engagement to SavingsPinay readers. I don’t just send a snippet of a new blog post I published. I actually manage to write and send a helpful guide, insightful tips and personal story to my subscribers.
September 2018 Blog Income Update
For September 2018, I earned a total of $26.65 or Php 1449.90
This is a lot lower than the previous month but I am still thankful because now I finally reached my fourth Google Adsense threshold!
Seriously, after I earned my first $100 from Google AdSense, it became so much easier for me to reach my next payment threshold.
It took me almost four years to make money in Google AdSense and now I only need to wait 3-4 months.
This gives me so much hope that in near future I could earn $100 monthly, even more!
What did I do differently?
Owning my own domain and hosting made such a huge difference in my blog life.
That investment unlocked all the possibilities for monetization on my blog. For three long years I didn’t bother to have my own domain and web hosting.
September 2018 Blog Traffic Update
Another month where I hit 20,000 pageviews a month on SavingsPinay. Knowing that my blog is read or even visited 20,000 times is such a huge achievement for me.
You see, when I started SavingsPinay I never imagined it to be what it is today, a source of inspiration to others. Thank you for keeping this blog alive.
From 23,013 views last month I went down to 24,332.

Below is the simple spreadsheet to show my September 2018 Net Worth:
Here are the details:
1. Extra Income – Php 25,904.11
Added my blog sweldo for my extra income fund for this month so extra income is Php 5000 higher than last month.
The rest of my passion projects are still pending. I feel disappointed, yes, because I have big plans on for my passion projects for 2018. But, I realized I’ve received the biggest blessing so far and that’s the restoration of my relationship with God.
Although things happened out of plan, I am still beyond grateful that it is God’s plan happening in my life right now. I may fail to reach the net worth I wanted since all of my income streams, except for the blog, is earning but through faith I know He will put things in the right order.
What I just have to do is believe and walk in whichever He leads me to walk.

2. Savings Account – Php 46, 719.12
One of my goal this 2018 is to reach Php 60,000 savings and put it on a passbook account.
And since I only put 10% of my income in Emergency Fund I will definitely fail in this goal as well.
My action item is to put my bonuses in this account instead.
I really want to tick-off this goal so that by 2019 I can focus on investing my money more.

3. Stocks – Php 33,048.85
Sadly, the Philippine stock market went down for September. I am at a loss by around Php 6000 already – the highest loss since I started investing in the stock market in March 2017.
But I’ve said this before and I say it again, I continue to invest even if the stock market is failing.
I am investing for the long-term and I refrain to be swayed by my emotions easily.
This is the reason why you need to have proper savings first before making any investment. The market is like a big bubble, no one knows what’s going to happen in years to come.

4. Mutual Fund – Php 61,730.66
I’ve been investing in mutual fund since 2014.
For the first three years I experienced slow growth in my mutual fund earnings.
I even experienced a loss in my last update.
The current state of the Philippine stock market affected the market value of my mutual investment big time. I’m not happy at all looking at my portfolio.
From almost Php 9000 gain in January down to a negative. Undoubtedly, sad.
But then I’m keeping my investment intact.
Mutual Fund is a good parking lot for whatever savings I have so I will still believe that as the market goes up once again, the returns I have will return and even grow bigger.

5. FarmOn – Php 19,017.50
There is an update with my FarmOn investment!
I already received my return for both the rice and squash investment I started in January 2018 and March 2018 respectively. I got around 11.9% ROI which is awesome.
Will I withdraw my money now?
I’ll probably withdraw my total return of investment which is Php 2000.00. As for my capital money (Php 17,000) I will keep the money to reinvest once a new cycle opened.

6. Receivables
I know my receivables is too much and I have to do something to decrease this and reinvest instead.
Both Receivable #1 and #2 are money owed to me.
Other Assets are combined value of items I own that has market value like aircon (I won on a raffle), LCD projector and gadgets like Ipad Mini and previous HP laptop.
7. Liabilities – Php 0.00
I currently don’t have any liabilities, debt or credit.
Final Notes from SavingsPinay

October is normal month for me. But for finances, it will not be a good month for sure as I will buying plane ticket for a trip abroad in November. This will cause a dent in my Extra Income Fund.
I need to be careful with my expenses since I am preparing for two major trips for the month of November. Please go over my other blog to read all about the events and happenings that took place in my personal life.
